Holdings in Company

Emerald Energy Plc (the “Company”) received notification on 13 February 2008 from Barclays PLC, that as at 5 February 2008, it, through a number of legal entities, held 2,993,309 ordinary shares of 10p each in the Company (“Ordinary Shares”), representing approximately 5.02 per cent of the Company's issued ordinary share capital. These holdings are held by the following legal entities: Barclays Global Investors Ltd; Barclays Life Assurance Co Ltd; Barclays Stockbrokers Ltd; Gerrard Investment Management Ltd.

The total number of current voting rights in the Company is 59,592,994
