Emerald Energy Plc (the “Company”) has been advised by Barclays PLC, that as at 27 July 2006, it, through a number of legal entities, holds 1,708,080 ordinary shares of 10p each in the Company (“Ordinary Shares”), representing approximately 3.05 per cent. of the Company's issued ordinary share capital.
