Holdings in Company

Emerald Energy Plc (the “Company”) received notification on 6 March 2008 from Barclays PLC that, as at 5 March 2008, it held, through a number of legal entities, 2,989,458 ordinary shares of 10p each in the Company, representing approximately 5.02 per cent of the Company's reportable voting rights. These holdings are held by the following legal entities: Barclays Global Investors Ltd; Barclays Life Assurance Co Ltd; Barclays Stockbrokers Ltd; Gerrard Investment Management Ltd.  

The total number of current voting rights in the Company is 59,592,994
