Directors' Shareholdings

Emerald announces that on 4 September 2006, it granted Share Options over ordinary shares of 10 pence each in the Company ("Share Options") to Angus MacAskill, a Director, under the Emerald Energy Plc Discretionary Share Option Scheme ("the Scheme").

Details of the Share Options issued to Mr MacAskill and his interest in options over ordinary shares of 10 pence each in the Company following the grant of these Share Options are as follows:

The exercise price for Tranche K Share Option is £2.25 and they may be exercised between 4 September 2007 and 4 September 2011.

The exercise price for Tranche L Share Option is £2.50 and they may be exercised between 4 September 2008 and 4 September 2011.

No payment was made in respect of the grant of these Share Options.
