Disclosure of Notifiable Interests Under Sections 198 - 2002 Companies Act 1985

On 1 September 2004, Emerald Energy Plc (the “Company”) announced that it had issued 7,741,094 ordinary shares pursuant to the Placing and the Open Offer.

Keith Henry, a director of the Company, has subscribed for 2,500 ordinary shares pursuant to the Open Offer and is now a holder of 12,500 ordinary shares, representing 0.03 per cent. of the Company’s issued share capital.
