The Agerato block lies in the Caguan Putumayo basin in the south-west of Colombia, approximately 75 km to the southeast of the Company’s Maranta exploration & production contract area.
The Agerato block lies on trend with existing discoveries in Ecuador. There is very limited existing seismic data in the block and the Company has acquired new 2D seismic data to determine the exploration potential within the block. Emerald expects that if there is exploration potential, the prospective depths will be relatively shallow, at approximately 7,000 ft.
If Emerald elects to enter the second exploration phase, the minimum work programme includes the drilling of one well.
